Open Window

A procession has passed by

Normalcy is regained at last

The sound of peoples screams the drums

The amplified campaigns and theories

Is dead thus silent for a while

The neighborhood windows open

As if some hurricane has passed by

And now it is safe to peep out

But I didn’t close my window

I let the hurricane burst in

It was safer then than now

They promised a golden future

Where everyman will be important

Flags of unity will fly high

Freedom in its truest sense

Will be realized

I painted myself with the colour

That I received from them

I came out in the street not myself

But a part of the hurricane

That will sweep the world

Heralding the golden future for all

But the wind current was

Changing from within

The hurricane of the golden future

Was killing many saving less lives

I came back running wild

And closed my window at last
